COMPENSATION: 11 Months - Teacher Salary Schedule

The applicant shall have earned at least a Master’s Degree in Social Work from an accredited university, and possess the LMSW or LCSW credential or be eligible to obtain either. The applicant must possess the certification required by the applicable rules and regulations of the Louisiana State Department of Education and/or the Louisiana Board of Elementary and Secondary Education or obtain such certification by the end of the first year of employment.
REPORTS TO: Pupil Appraisal Coordinator
JOB GOAL: To enable students to derive the fullest possible educational experience from school by providing a full range of pupil appraisal services to students needing assistance.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Provide in-service training and consultation on matters relative to pupil appraisal services.
2. Assist school personnel in completing the initial screening process as outlined in Bulletins 1508 and 1706.
3. Assist in the evaluation of students suspected of being exceptional according to
established regulations.
4. Serve as evaluation coordinator for referred students.
5. Interpret evaluation results to school personnel and to parents following the established regulations.
6. Participate in IEP staffing following the completion of an evaluation.
7. Provide support services to students in the general ed. setting with learning and/or behavior concerns.
8. Provide appropriate behavioral assessment and/or related services for students with
special needs within the staff member's area of expertise.
9. Perform required assessments as requested by the evaluation coordinator in the assigned schools in a timely manner.
10. Keep accurate and up-to-date records
11. Promptly notify the date entry clerk of the required tracking information to be entered
into the ESER System.
12. Complete all required evaluation reports within the required timelines and established
regulations.
13. Keep abreast of current trends, techniques, and regulations by attending professional meeting.
14. Perform other duties as assigned by the appropriate authority.
