OPENING: Office Secretary - Psychological Services Department

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

(Education, Skills, Knowledge and Abilities)

 

· High School Diploma or GED  required. An associates or bachelors degree in a related field is preferred.

· Must have at least 1 year of job related training and/or experience.

· Ability to efficiently perform multiple tasks with a need to occasionally upgrade skills in order to meet changing job conditions. Specific skill – based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: operating standard office equipment including pertinent software applications (MS Word, Excel, School Related Software, District/School Related Software/Systems, etc.)

 

· Ability to work with professionalism required to work with diverse individuals/groups, work with frequent interruptions, maintain confidentiality and displaying tact, courtesy, and discretion when problem solving and/or faced with difficult situations.  

 

REPORTS TO: Director of Psychological and Intervention Services

                            

JOB SUMMARY:   To assist in the smooth functioning of Psychological and Intervention Services by effective discharge of assigned duties. 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Process and disseminate confidential evaluation reports.

2. Maintain a daily log of printed evaluation reports to ensure dissemination withint the mandated timelines. 

3. Handle and process correspondence. 

4. Answer telephone inquiries relating to Psychological Services and direct inquirer to appropriate personnel. 

5. Maintain inventory of office supplies and prepare purchase orders to request needed supplies. 

6. Process, revise, and maintain forms required for documentation, parental notification, evaluation reports, etc. used by Psychological Services personnel. 

7. Assist in the updating and maintaining of security of confidential student files. 

8. Demonstrate effective use of office computers for work processing and maintaining required data relating to special services. 

9. Assist in entering data in ESER. 

10. Perform duties with minimum supervison. 

11. Maintain a positive attitute through appearance and demeanor. 

12. Exhibit professionalism in all aspects at work, and in dealings with parents and other employees of the Morehouse Parish School Board. 

13. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
